playtime

is it playtime?  it still involves sewing but this time sewing for me.  i've had an old picnic basket for ages and have been using it as my knitting/crochet store.  not that i've been doing either of those stress relievers for ages but i'm hoping that this will inspire me (along with Ren's blog!)

THESE LITTLE BEAUTIES DESERVE A BETTER HOME!
as you can see it has the most stunning vintage green leather crockery & utensil holders.  perfect to hold a tin or two and crochet hooks etc.  a few minor repairs needed ie new leather thonging used to replace the broken lid hinges (i can't live with the tatty old bit of string anymore!) and most importantly a pretty liner to stop my wool snagging on the wicker...ouch!

SPOT THE SNAG!!
to make the liner i dug out some old cath kidston fabric which is just so pretty and some red polka dot ribbon.  an hour or so later.....

now back in its usual sitting spot by my favourite armchair i really feel inspired to crochet.  or at least do something with my unfinished blanket started such a long time ago.  i think its just big enough to turn into a cushion cover.
hope you're having a lovely weekend, Lucyxx

Hiya! crotchet is something I used to do so very often before - it's ages since I tried my hand at it and just last year I gave away so many little patterns I had in some Canadian magazines my aunt had once sent me. You inspire to try my hand at the craft again. You could make the loveliest throw-over with these....

OOOOooooo I get so envious about crochet, especially some beautiful as yours! Ah crochet ... tried it, didn't like it, wanna do it ... BUT commonsense says NOOoo ... as does the pile of unfinished projects awaiting my attention! What a quandry! Commonsense will prevail. Haaaa thanks for the smidge of counselling here ;)
Hope you're having a wonderful week ;)
